Hearst Corporation’s Beaumont Enterprise chooses Our-Hometown, Inc. for weekly newspaper websites

Clifton Springs, NY (November 14, 2005): Our-Hometown, Inc. announced today an agreement to provide websites for six weekly community newspapers owned by The Beaumont Enterprise, a division of The Hearst Corporation.

Every week the newspapers will send Our-Hometown the same PDF files they use for printing the papers. All articles, pictures and captions, as well as classified and display ads will be extracted and converted to an HTML based website.

Jeff Noble, advertising director for The Beaumont Enterprise said, “Advertisers on our daily’s website are looking for increased exposure in the markets served by our weeklies. Our-Hometown’s system enables us to quickly and easily build and maintain strong websites for the weeklies. This advertising source alone makes a strong ROI case.”

In addition to ads from the daily, the weeklies’ ROP display ads and third party ads from Yahoo Publisher Network will be run on the websites. Display advertisers from the print editions will not only gain exposure from their ads on the websites but from the recognition of those ads by the search engines.

Stephen Larson, CEO of Our-Hometown, Inc. said, “We’re glad to be able to provide our solution to one of the largest newspaper brands in the market today. Our system’s ease of use for the publisher coupled with search engine positioning of both news and ads was designed with smaller publishers in mind. This agreement illustrates that larger newspaper groups can also benefit from the Our-Hometown model.”

The Jasper Newsboy (www.jaspernewsboy.com) is the first newspaper to go online with the system.
