In MemberPress there are two ways of being able to allow users to get a discount with a MemberPress coupon:

Through the Registration Form

Through a Direct Link

Through the Registration Form

This is the most common way to allow users to enter coupons. Simple navigate to your WordPress Dashboard > MemberPress > Options > Account tab > Registration section > and click the checkbox next to the option that says, “Enable Coupon Field on membership registration forms”.

With that checked, a new blank coupon field will appear at the bottom of your registration forms. This field will only accept valid MemberPress Coupons that you have created on your site.

Through a Direct Link

If you would like to send your user a link to your registration page with the coupon already entered, or would rather not have the coupon field enabled for your entire site, you can add the following to the end of your registration page URL:

/?coupon=your-coupon-code

So, if your coupon code was
cyber-monday
for example, and it applied to your Gold membership, the URL you would send the user might look something like this:

https://www.yourcoolsite.com/register/gold/?coupon=cyber-monday

The post Memberpress > Enabling Coupons Upon Registration first appeared on Our-Hometown.

Coupon Options

Below, the various coupon settings are explained.

Change the coupon code here if needed. Coupon codes should NOT contain spaces, quotes, or any other non alpha-numeric symbol. Only alphanumeric characters, hyphens, or underscores should be used.

Discount – The discount that will be applied to every billing for the subscription this coupon is applied to. Can be any percent or fixed amount. For example, if you enter a discount of 10%, and the coupon is used for a monthly subscription, the 10% discount will be applied to every months billing for the life of the subscription. If the subscription is only a one-time payment, then the discount will only be applied to the first and only billing.

This coupon can be used _______ times. – This is the number of times this coupon can be used by an individual users. Defaults to unlimited (∞) times. Enter any whole number, entering a zero makes it unlimited. For example, if you enter five here, then that means that five different users can use the coupon. If a sixth user attempts to use it, no discount will be applied.

Override Trial Period – Check this option to override the trial period of any automatically recurring subscription. Does NOT apply to one-time memberships, so a coupon with this feature is used on one, this setting will be ignored.

Trial Cost – Enter the cost of the trial this coupon will create. Can be any set amount. Percent discounts are not supported.

Coupon Expiration – Enable this option if you would like your coupon to expire. After the set date, any user who attempts to use the coupon will not be given the discount.
