It is not often thought about, but eventually there may come a time when you will need to change the logo on your website. Maybe you’ve undergone a total re-brand. Maybe you’ve just changed your color scheme. Or, maybe you just like to shake things up with some seasonally-themed artwork in the header.

Whatever the reason, changing your logo is extremely easy! Simply navigate to your homepage and activate the Customize tool. Choose Logo & Image Options from the Customizer menu.

Use the Upload Your Logo option to upload your new logo artwork. Simply click Change Image, and upload your new graphic to the Media Library. If your new graphic has already been uploaded, you can select it from the Media Library tab.

The Upload Your Smaller Logo option is used to upload an alternate logo image, often a condensed version of a larger graphic. Some publications upload a reverse-color logo to be used in darker areas on the website that otherwise would contrast poorly. In the example, we use a white version of our logo that will work better against dark backgrounds.

Click Publish to save your changes! Enjoy your new logo!

Notes & Tips for Logos:

Use a high-resolution image so that it adjusts appropriately for high-resolution devices
Use a transparent background saved as a .PNG or .GIF filetype
Animated .GIF logos are supported, but Flash logos are not

SiteOrigin Page Builder

Picking a Color Scheme

We know you have a set of colors you tend to use with your business – your logo colors, complementary colors to support them in your text, headings, and in other various ways.

If you don’t know what colors you want to use on your website, we recommend first, finding out what colors you use (if you don’t already know).

http://eye-dropper.kepi.cz/ is a great Google Chrome extension that let’s you use it’s eyedropper tool to see what colors are being used on any website.

You can also use the eyedropper tool in Adobe Photoshop to figure our your colors’ hexcodes.

Once you have these, you can use a website, such as http://www.colorhexa.com/

Enter your hexcode and search, and it will take you to a page with recommended color schemes, as well as a list of shades, tints and tones related to your color.

Moving your mouse over any of these colors will show you the associated hexcode. You can then copy & paste this code to use in your custom CSS, in the color tab of the Our Hometown customizer so you can select font colors, backgrounds, and more, and create a site that represents your brand without using the exact same colors as everyone else.
