DNS Information
The most important thing we need to launch your new website is the ability to adjust your DNS and Nameserver Settings. In most cases, you’ll have the option to invite us to make changes to your DNS via your provider or web host. In some cases, we may need to log in to your webhost account with your username/password.

If you prefer to make these changes on your end, please provide an e-mail address that our engineers can use to coordinate the launch with your technical team.

If Network Solutions manages your DNS settings, you can invite us to join your account as a Tech manager, thus granting us permission to make DNS changes on launch day. Please follow the instructions below to invite us.
- Once logged in, click on your username in the top right-hand corner.
- Select “Accounts and Users”.
- Scroll down to the “User Roles & Permissions” section and press the “Add User” button.
- Enter the name “DNS Manager” and email address “admin@our-hometown.com“.
- Select the “Tech” role.
- Click “Invite”.

In order to accept payments through your website for any reason — subscriptions, classified orders, etc. — you’ll need an account with one of our supported payment gateways.

We highly recommend Stripe, as it provides the smoothest integration with all of the vital services on our platform, and the transaction fees are identical to the competitors. Importantly, Stripe let’s you invite us to join your Stripe Team, which then allows us to manage the connection between your website and Stripe without logging in to your personal account or being able to control your finances.

We also support Authorize.net and PayPal as payment gateways.

Our-Hometown strongly recommends creating a Google Business Profile page for your Newspaper or Publication to help improve Search Engine Optimization for your website.

Using your Google Business Profile, you can create a profile page for your business that will show up alongside relevant search results on Google showcasing your business’s name, logo, location/map, website, contact information and business hours.

Your newspaper or publication may already have a pre-created Google Business Profile page that you’ll need to claim and verify ownership of. Otherwise, if a profile doesn’t already exist, you can create one from scratch.
