Web Ad Positions

The WordPress platforms allows our clients more flexibility than ever before when it comes to advertising. Using the AdRotate Pro Plugin with our responsive widget-based layouts allows us to place an Ad Widget (Single Ad or an Ad Group) in just about any location you can imagine on your website.

Let’s take a look at some the popular ad positions we have available. Be sure to click each screenshot to view the full image!

(Note: Some of our sites may contain stylistic elements requested by the customer that render an ad position unusable. For example, a site that uses a main logo aligned to the left side of the header would not be able to utilize the “Header Ads Left” widget position to place an ad.)

Banner Ads 

We have several locations available for Banner Ads throughout the website. The standard size for these banner ads is 728 x 90 pixels, but we can utilize any size ad so long as it fits within the constraints of your website.

Above Logo Ads (Leaderboard 728 x 90 px) – This area allows us to display an advertisement above your website’s logo. There is plenty of room to accommodate standard Leaderboard ads.

Below Logo Ads (Leaderboard 728 x 90 px) – Much like the “Above Logo Ads”, this area allows us to place an advertisement directly below the website’s logo — but still above the primary navigation bar.

Header Right/Left (Leaderboard 728 x 90 px) – We are able to place ads to the right and left of the site’s main logo as well. In this example, the Leader Times website has their logo aligned to the left of the page — meaning only the “Header Right” area is available. However, this stylistic design element actually creates room for a larger 728 x 90 Leaderboard advertisement.

Hero Ads (Leaderboard 728 x 90 px) – Hero Ads display at the top of the main content of every page. It displays below the main navigation bars, but above both the main content and sidebar content areas.

Main Content (Leaderboard 728 x 90 px) – We can also place banner ads anywhere within your sites main content area. This means you could place an ad between any blocks of content on your page. If you wanted to place an advertisement between the “Obituaries” and “Sports” sections on the homepage, you can do so.

Bottom Leaderboard (Leaderboard 728 x 90 px) – Similar to the “Main Content” ads, we can place an advertisement or Ad Group at the bottom of the main content area, but above the footer.

Footer Leaderboard (Leaderboard 728 x 90 px) – Or, if you prefer to place the ad in the footer itself, that can be achieved as well!

Sidebar Tile Ads

Our sidebar area is just as flexible as the rest of the site. We can place as many ads or ad groups as you require, and can always add or remove them as needed. While 300 pixels is the maximum width allowed for these ads, the height doesn’t necessarily matter — our examples will demonstrate some of the common sizes we see, but we can use any size you’d like!

Sidebar Tile Ad (Standard Tile Ad 300 x 300 px) – Below is a standard tile ad placed in the sidebar area.

Sidebar Small Tile Ad (Small Tile Ad 300 x 250 px) – Below is a smaller tile ad placed in the sidebar area.

Sidebar Large Tile Ad (Large Tile Ad 300 x 600 px) – Below is a larger tile ad placed in the sidebar area.

Although these examples only demonstrate one active advertisement at a time, we can modify this setup to suit your needs. We also have full control over the order of the ads and how they relate to other content on the sidebar. If you want an ad at the top of the column, we can do that. If you want another ad further down, underneath the “E-Edition Slider”, we can do that as well. It is up to you how many positions you wish to offer in the sidebar, and what size ads you will accept.

Post Injection Ads

Post injection ads are advertisements that appear within the body text of a published article. Below are some examples of a banner ad and tile ad being displayed via post injections. Keep in mind that post injection ads can be aligned to the left, right, or center of the page. You can also have more than one post injection ad running at once.

Post Injection Tile Ad (Any Size Tile) –

That should cover the most popular available advertising areas. However, as stated at the beginning, WordPress is extremely flexible and with the use of widgets or shortcodes, we can place an ad virtually anywhere.
