The news publishing industry is an ever-changing landscape, and with all of the added uncertainty that the pandemic introduced to the scene, it is no secret that many newspapers world-wide are still trying to cope with the ripple effects.

Many newspapers have reduced the size of their news teams, and the remaining employees have been burdened with picking up the slack. In speaking with publishers, several have noted that they are barely finding time to post their stories to the website due to all of the other added responsibilities they’ve taken on.

We felt it would be an opportune time to remind our customers that we offer Full Service PDF Extraction as an excellent option for publishers who aren’t able to dedicate time and resources towards posting the stories on the website themselves.

The service isn’t exactly “automatic” — but it may as well be, from a publisher’s perspective!

Once enrolled, you’ll be given access to our FTP server so that you can deliver your PDF pages to our production team each day when your paper has gone to print.

We’ll take it from there!

Our team will carefully extract all of the articles and import everything to be published on the website at the requested time. Each article is assigned to a category based on where it appears in the paper: if a story appears in the “Sports” section, for example, it will be assigned to the corresponding “Sports” category on the website.

We work with publishers to set up extraction guidelines and fine tune the process to ensure that all articles are extracted to the expected category.

Advertisements can also be extracted and published to the website as Display Ads. Display Ads will run down the sidebar of your website, with a handful of ads randomly displayed each time a page loads.

The cost for Full Service PDF Extraction is $2 per page in an edition and $.50 per ad extracted in each edition.
